1932 09 11: Micara to Pizzardo: Advice to Cardijn

English translation

APOSTOLIC NUNCIATURE BRUSSELS

Personal

Dearest Excellency,

Telegraph

26 X 32

Today I sent a long report on the organisation of Catholic Youth Action in Belgium and especially on the “Jeunesse Ouvrière Catholique”.

Just now I had the opportunity to meet Canon Cardijn. I brought up the topic of the J.O.C. and didn’t fail to give him some advice, as you know.

Good Cardijn will do everything as the Superiors wish, and asks only to be directed and to receive the necessary comments.

I’ll have the pleasure of speaking to you about this in person. I mention this because, if there’s no objection, I’d like to take a little leave.

You will judge whether I would do well or badly, and if so, I would ask you to obtain the necessary authorisation and to let me know by telegraph.

With the most sincere esteem and kindest regards,

and devout greetings I am pleased to reaffirm myself

Carissima Eccellenza,

Telegraph
